Oh and to extrapolate on the great stuff: Pauley's 14-4 with 3.55 ERA               

It also puts Pauley back in the line up, brought up from Pawtucket. Great stuff in AAA, but 10.38 ERA with us. Still, he deserves another chance.               

Aardsma is back on the DL, by the way. It's the groin, again.               

@GiovanniAJr I'm not so sure. He has something that's different, and works for us. The best relievers are not always the stereotypical ones.               

All I'm saying is Okajima is not a guy I like seeing in a game in the late innings. Even when he was getting guys out, I couldn't believe it.               

It's also about nerves. Hansen had the heat, but not the nerves, so he does not work for late inning relief. I'd say yes on Masterson.               

If I were the manager -- and I'm not knocking Francona, I think he's done great -- I would stick with Papelbon, Delcarmen, Lopez and maybe Masterson.               

I said it when they got Keith Foulke years ago ... slowball late inning relief is a recipe for disaster.
