Reds have reportedly signed Jerry Hairston Jr. to a 1 year deal worth about 2 MIL, with 2 MIL in incentives, Hairston is expected to be starting SS

Reds sign Tavaras to a 2 year deal. So much for them saying they needed RH power. Tavaras has a poor OBP, which doesn't help the Reds at all!

@uofmfan - Speed doesn't do any good, if you can't get on base, I'm not sure he's an upgrade of Norris Hopper. Could be C. Patterson all over again.

@cgchamberlain- Only advantage of Taveras is his speed, the guy is lightning and has potential to steal 50+ bases per year.

@cgchamberlain- Of the 3, I think Baldelli would be the best fit for Cincy. Hairston was great for us last year, but his stats before then were awful

@firehead - I guess we need a leadoff hitter too... With that awesome .308 OBP last year, Taveras looks like a winner, ha ha...

So much for a right handed power hitter... Reds are looking to sign Baldelli, Hairston, or W. Taveras.
